Arsenal Wages: Who Earns What at the Emirates

Arsenal's wage bill sits around £187m a year, roughly £3.6m per week. Bukayo Saka leads on £300,000 weekly. Full breakdown of the squad's salaries.

The Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal

Arsenal’s total wage bill runs to approximately £186,993,040 per year — around £3,596,020 per week in gross fixed salaries. Estimates for the 2026-27 season put it slightly higher at £191,100,000, or roughly £3,675,000 weekly, and figures including bonuses reach £244.4m, reported as the second-highest in the Premier League.

Here is where that money goes.

Arsenal’s highest earners

Player Reported weekly wage
Bukayo Saka £300,000
Kai Havertz £280,000
Martin Ødegaard £240,000
Declan Rice £240,000
Viktor Gyökeres £200,000
David Raya £100,000

Figures are as widely reported and represent gross fixed weekly salary before bonuses.

Saka’s contract reset the top of the wage structure

Bukayo Saka is Arsenal’s highest-paid player after signing a four-and-a-half-year deal worth £300,000 per week in early 2026.

The scale of the jump matters. Arsenal increased his weekly salary by £105,000, from £195,000 to £300,000 — a rise of more than 50% in a single renegotiation.

That is a substantial move, and it was not made casually. Saka is academy-produced, which means Arsenal carry no amortised transfer fee for him. A club with no acquisition cost on the books has far more room to pay in wages, and the deal also functions as a defensive measure against the periodic interest from clubs with larger budgets.

The Gyökeres and Raya deals

Viktor Gyökeres earns £200,000 per week following his £55m move from Sporting CP. That places him fifth in the squad on wages despite being one of the largest recent transfer outlays — a fairly disciplined structure by Premier League standards, where marquee signings often arrive at the top of the wage scale immediately.

David Raya signed new terms in October 2025 and now earns £100,000 per week. For a first-choice Premier League goalkeeper that is a mid-range figure, consistent with the broader pattern of goalkeepers being paid below outfield equivalents.

How Arsenal’s wage bill compares

The £244.4m figure including bonuses is reported as the second-highest in the Premier League. That places Arsenal in the top tier of spending without being the outright leader.

The more useful question is efficiency — wage bill relative to points and relative to revenue. A club spending second-most and finishing second is performing to expectation. The disproportionately good outcomes come from clubs that outperform their wage rank, and the disasters come from those that badly underperform it.

Why wage figures vary between sources

If you compare several sites you will find different numbers for the same player, and there are legitimate reasons.

Gross versus net. Some sources report pre-tax, others post-tax. In the UK the difference on a £300,000 weekly salary is very large.

Fixed versus total. Appearance fees, goal bonuses, clean sheet bonuses, Champions League qualification bonuses and loyalty payments are frequently excluded from headline figures.

Estimation methods. Clubs do not publish individual salaries. Every published figure is a reconstruction from reported deals, agent briefings and accounts filings. The overall wage bill from company accounts is reliable; the per-player split is informed estimation.

Treat any individual player figure as accurate to within roughly 10-15%, and the squad-level totals as considerably more reliable.
