Spurs complete deal for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi
Tottenham strengthen at centre-back, moving to secure the Argentine ahead of a season that will see them return to Champions League football.
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, adding another body to a centre-back position the club has prioritised this summer. Senesi built a reputation as one of the more reliable defenders outside the traditional top six during his time on the south coast, and Spurs will hope that consistency transfers well to a bigger stage.
Bournemouth extract a fee for a player who was central to their defensive setup, continuing a pattern this summer of established Premier League clubs picking off the division’s better-performing squads lower down the table. It leaves Bournemouth with rebuilding to do at the back, even after a season strong enough to secure European qualification.
For Tottenham, the move fits a squad being adjusted for the extra fixture load that comes with Champions League football. Depth and quality across multiple positions has been the stated priority, and a proven Premier League defender arriving with no adaptation period needed is a pragmatic piece of business.
Senesi becomes one of several new arrivals across the division this summer as clubs look to strengthen before the 2026/27 season opens on 21 August.
